The Manning community consistently collaborates on projects and has a strong private-public partnership. The City and non-profits regularly use outside resources to enhance projects. Examples include eight partnerships with Iowa State University for wayfinding at the Rec Center, the Trestle Park concept, public art, and much more. Another example is a 2-year pilot project with Drake University, which has provided direct business assistance as well as public relations campaigns. Both of these universities and their students have helped create even more plans for the Trestle Park space.

Manning was designated an Iowa Great Place in 2015.

Project Spotlight

As part of the community's initial designation, six projects were included as a part of the vision: the Hospital Trail, School Trail, Highway 141 art, Bronze Statues, Art in the Park, and Trestle Park. Additional projects are in the process of installation.
