Iowa Screenwriters Grant
The Iowa Screenwriters Grants are intended to provide support to Iowa’s screenwriters to undertake activities that advance their artistic practices and elevate the creative screenwriting industry in Iowa.
The Iowa Screenwriters Grant is administered by the Iowa Arts Council, which exists within the Iowa Economic Development Authority. Funding is made possible by a sponsorship from the Iowa Scriptwriters Alliance and the Iowa Motion Picture Association. Applicants must adhere to the funding policies of the Iowa Arts Council.

What: $500-$2,500 with 50% cash match requirement
When: November 1, 2023 at 11:59 PM for the funding period of December 1, 2023 - June 30, 2024.

Potential applicants are welcome to schedule a brief meeting with Arts, Film, and Media Coordinator EJ Philby Burton in advance of the application deadline if the applicant has additional questions. Potential applicants are encouraged to review all written guidelines and informational resources prior to scheduling a meeting with a program manager. Meetings can be scheduled directly using the program manager’s scheduling page via Microsoft Bookings.
